
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is the captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also the co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 through 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. The team made her professional debut and was a part of the team's success in winning the league title. Morgan was only 22 at the time and was the youngest player on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semi-final game against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She was second in the United States to score 21 assists and 20 goals for 2012, making her the seventh-highest-scoring player in the country to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was named to both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
