Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on the 12th of July 1988[1,] is a Canadian actress/singer. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to be the winner of Canadian Idol's third season, which aired in 2005. She is an actress and is well-known for her roles as Two or Rebecca or Portia Lin in the Syfy science fiction series Dark Matter and as Officer Lucy Chen on the ABC police procedural drama series The Rookie.Although she was praised highly by judges, she suffered huge setbacks in both the Top 10 and Top 9 weeks of the finals, as she was voted in the lowest three and the bottom two in both the bottom three and bottom two. After being shocked, judges recommended that viewers vote Melissa, who was clearly the most enthusiastic contestant. O'Neil was recognized for her efforts and she didn't drop to the lowest three. Zack Werner declared that O'Neil was "a threat" to win the whole competition. O'Neil and Rex Goudie made it to the top two spots of the contest on the 7th of September, 2005. Following yet another impressive performances, Werner declared that "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away long live Queen". O'Neil defeated Goudie in the final results showon the 14th of September, 2005. She was also crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
