Antonia Lofaso
Chef Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore deep into her personal world. Her food evokes curiosity, which developed after she stepped outside of the Long Island suburbs and entered the rich cultural landscape in Los Angeles. She believes of the fact that cavatelli and carnitas are able to coexist effortlessly on a menu portrays a style that is constantly evolving. Every dish she serves is inspired by a distinct outlook for the future but also with a nostalgic look at the past. Scopa Italian Roots is a restaurant founded by Lofaso in the year 2013. The restaurant was opened by her because of her heritage as an Italian-American. Lofaso has received praise for her unique interpretation of Italian cuisine. Food at Lofaso is genuine, warm and delicious. Lofaso studied from chefs who employed sophisticated methods. However, she was not afraid to take huge chances to honor her intuition. She quickly rose through the ranks at Wolfgang Puck's Spago and was able to transform various high-profile kitchens of Los Angeles while working closely with many high-profile celebrities. In the year 2011, Lofaso joined forces along with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to debut Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. The bar was eventually able to get a place in Black Market as well as her partnerships. Lofaso could find the space to express her creativity that she longed for through this partnership. Black Market doesn't have one distinct focus. That is their intention. A course might begin with chips of dill potato and shishito peppers, followed by an ice cream roll Korean wings, and then a series of meatballs. What binds this diverse assortment of flavours is Antonia. Lofaso evaluated her career success based on her ability to both understand and be authentic to her audiences. Famous appearances on Top Chef Chicago & Top Chef: All Stars showcased her talents outside of the cooking area. Her talents are apparent in her regular roles in the CNBC's Restaurant Startup judge and on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child & ABC's Real O'neals. In 2012 Lofaso was a part of Penguin for the release of"The Busy Mother's Cookbook 100 Recipes for Quick Delicious homemade Meals, which also describes the obstacles she faced while studying at the elite French Culinary Institute, and simultaneously caring for her child Xea. Lofaso believes that all of her successes stem from her love of cooking and she is capable of keeping her finger on the pulse of this industry by focusing in the kitchen. She is transforming the aesthetic by redesigning chef wear to be functional and stylish, through her brand Chefletics. Her main focus is to remain in line with her mission. In this regard she created Antonia Lofaso Catering. This provides customers with the most personal service.
